Doolittle (35th Anniversary Reissue) (Vinyl LP, Green)

4AD
Vinyl LP (Green)

If you've ever screamed along to Debaser, closed your eyes and tapped your toes to Here Comes Your Man, ridden the Wave of Mutilation, or revelled in Monkey Gone To Heaven, this reissue of the Pixies' second record Doolittle might just be for you. Celebrating the album's staggering 35 year anniversary, 4AD are releasing a limited edition colour edition for you to La La Love! - Flying Out

'Doolittle' is the sophomore studio album from American alternative rock band Pixies, first released in April 1989 on 4AD. The album's offbeat and dark subject material, featuring references to surrealism, Biblical violence, torture and death, contrasts with the clean production sound achieved by the newly hired producer Gil Norton.

The second studio album from Pixies - Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David LoveringDoolittle was to prove a pivotal moment for both band and the wider scene. Produced by Gil Norton and recorded between two studios (Downtown Recorders in Boston MA and Carriage House Studios in Stamford CT) in late-1988, it was an instant hit, containing some of the band’s most memorable singles (‘Monkey Gone To Heaven’, ‘Here Comes Your Man’, ‘Debaser’). Included among the many plaudits thrown Doolittle’s way was Pitchfork ranking it at Number 4 in their Best Albums of the 80s poll, while NME writers in 2004 named it their Second Best Album of All Time. The band toured Doolittle in 2009 to celebrate its 20th birthday and five years on, it’s now time to give it the deluxe release treatment it deserves.
